The rise of social media has given us a platform to voice our opinions, but I've observed an online trend among feminists deviating from the original goal of gender equality. Instead, they criticize men and anything associated with traditional societal values. To articulate my perspective on the essence of feminism, my initial idea was to create a poster inspired by the Guerrilla Girls' creative style, incorporating disruptive headlines and bold visuals. However, as my creative process unfolded, I sought more interaction with people, prompting me to transform my project into a more engaging endeavour.

I came up with the concept, "I can ______, because I want to," and created a handwritten font which symbolized my voice. Then, I applied the same handwritten font to the poster. The background image of the poster is a photograph from the 1970s Toronto women's liberation movement, serving as a reminder of the core value of feminism— the pursuit of gender equality. I hope to set up a website or display my work in an exhibition, which will allow participants to fill in their opinion in “I can ______, because I want to.”
